et airliner, development of the Tu-134 with third engine added at the root of tailfin. Wings are slightly anhedral (downward drooping).
Designed to replace Tu-104, An-10, and Tu-104 and Il-18 on medium and long range Aeroflot routes.
More than 1000 built, most of them are still in active service with many aircompanies all over the world.
