ntroduction of another modification of the Mi-24, designated Mi-24V was delayed by development of new generation Sturm-V antitank missiles (version of the ground Sturm-S system). Despite some delays, the airborn system was ready well ahead of its ground 'prototype'.
Automatic pilot's sight ASP-17V (modification of one used on Su-17 strike aircraft) was added to reduce flight stress on a crew.
The export version with 23mm cannon instead YaKB-12.7 is designated Mi-35
At present new 'Ataka' anti-tank complex comes to replace 'Sturm' guided missiles.
