his family of aircraft was named after pilot and designer Edward Neuport, who built his
first (and very successful!) aircraft in 1910. Shortly a company was founded,
that started series production of one of the best planes of their time.
Russian Military Management purchased virtually every type of 'Neuport', since
1912 mass production started in Russia. More than 1,000
'Neuports' were built in Russia until
1920. Some served as trainers until
1925.
