This photo at Virtual Aircraft Museum clearly shows I-16 Type 5
with three barrels in the wing. I know no other Type 5 with such an armament!

Six ShKAS 7.62mm machine guns were installed in the wing out of
propeller arc. Those guns were movable by 200 vertically.
Two built in 1936, did not enter series production.
