BICh-5 by B.I.Cheranovsky

A
fter success of the BICh-3 in 1925 of B.I.Cheranovsky proposed several flying wing aircraft, some of them were tested in the TsAGI wind tunnel during 1927-1928. One of those was large thin-engined (BMW-VI) aircraft, also of 'parabola' class. It was intended as a bomber.
Despite never built as a flying machine, the BICh-5 served as a testbed for different control layouts. The best solution for ailerons and elevators was to use inverted airfoil (up-side-down) and 'hang' them below the wing trailing edge. This solution was used in the BICh-7 aircraft (1929).
