'104' by A.N.Tupolev/ STO-3/OTB

eries Tu-2S modified for interceptor role. It carried aiming radar (A.L.Mints) and two additional VYa-23 cannons in the nose.
First flight (pilot A.D.Perelet, engineer L.L.Kreber) took place on July 18, 1944. Flight characteristic were not better than for standard Tu-2S, and aircraft '104' development was cancelled. Aircraft was used in 1944-1945 for experiments with aiming radar for fighters.
The only '104' aircraft was rebuilt as UTB in February 1946.
